The organisation, which has about 61.000 employees (in FTEs), operates in 44 countries. Rabobank Group is comprised of Rabobanks plus local Rabobanks, and its (internationally based) subsidiaries. Conditioned by its cooperative roots, the nature of Rabobank Group is characterised by strong mutual relationships. Rabobank Group has a toprating, awarded by the well-known international rating agencies Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Dominion Bond Rating Service. Rabobank, local Rabobanks and Rabobank International
The 106 local Rabobanks, which have a staff base of about 27.300 employees (in FTEs), form the densest banking network in the Netherlands. Rabobank boasts 853 branches and upwards of 2.898 ATMs. The local Rabobanks serve 7.6 million Dutch private individuals and corporate clients, offering a full range of financial services. The local Rabobanks, their members and their clients make up Rabobank Group’s cooperative core business. Being at the heart of society, they are committed, nearby and trendsetting in their service offering. Clients can become members of their local Rabobank. The 106 local banks and Rabobank work together from one cooperative holding. Each local Rabobank is represented on behalf of its members in the highest body of the cooperative, which is the General Members Council. This body’s responsibilities include determining the strategy of Rabobank as a whole. Rabobank supervises, on behalf of the Dutch Central Bank, the solvency, liquidity and internal control structure of the local Rabobanks. Rabobank acts as the holding company of a number of specialist subsidiaries, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The wholesale banking and international retail banking divisions of Rabobank Group – have 16,100 employees (in FTEs) globally, serving its clients from 30 countries, including the Netherlands.
